A little everyday care helps bamboo tableware stay ready for the next snack, family meal or proudly self-served spoonful.
This guide is for our natural bamboo feeding pieces, including plates, bowls and bamboo-handled cutlery. It does not cover the stainless steel container in our snack box.
The simple routine: hand wash in warm soapy water, separate removable silicone parts before drying, and let every piece dry completely before putting it away.
Wash before first use and after each use
- Hand wash the bamboo piece in warm soapy water.
- Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
- Remove the detachable silicone suction ring or base before drying.
- Dry the bamboo and silicone parts thoroughly.
- Reassemble or store the item only when every part is completely dry.
What to avoid
- Do not put bamboo feeding pieces in the dishwasher or microwave.
- Do not leave them soaking or wet for long periods.
- Avoid heavy drops and repeated knocks, which can cause cracks, splits or deep scuffs.
Check before serving food
Look over the bamboo and silicone parts before each use. If you notice a crack, split, loose piece or other damage that may make the item unsafe, stop using it and contact us.
Optional care for plates and bowls
If a clean, completely dry bamboo plate or bowl looks dry, you may apply a very light coat of plain, food-grade coconut oil. Wipe away any excess before storing or using the item. Do not use coconut oil if the intended user has a known coconut allergy.
This is optional conditioning only. It does not treat mould or repair cracks, splits or other damage.
If you notice mould
Stop using the item. Do not rely on a household vinegar or baking soda treatment to confirm that a child's food-contact item is safe to use again. Removing visible mould does not show that the material has been fully cleaned and dried.
